In response to the AIDS crisis in Africa, Peace House Africa (Peace House) has opened and is continuing construction on Peace House Secondary School (PHS) providing orphaned students with a nurturing home and the entrepreneurial skills needed to help build their nation's economy.
To support Peace House in its mission, each February, Peace House Partner volunteers travel to Tanzania to work at PHS. During four previous trips, the men and women of Peace House Partners (formerly Project 640) built, dug, and planted alongside local Tanzanian construction crews. In addition, the volunteers visiting more recently were able to interact with the 120 students currently on campus.
The Peace House Partner volunteers traveling in February 2009 will have an opportunity to teach, play and work with the more than 200 students on campus as well as helping with projects around the school.
